Profile:

The Senior PV Consultant will join the Technical Consulting team, supporting the development, assessment and implementation of utility-scale photovoltaic and hybrid projects (PV+BESS).
The successful candidate will provide technical and strategic advice to developers, investors, lenders and operators active in the Italian market, with opportunities to support projects in other European markets, including Spain, Portugal, France and the United Kingdom.
The role involves significant participation in technical due diligence activities, investment transaction advisory, business development and the management of complex projects in the renewable energy sector.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide technical advice on utility-scale photovoltaic and hybrid projects throughout all stages of the project lifecycle.

• Conduct technical due diligence on PV plants and portfolios, supporting investors, lenders and developers in acquisition and financing transactions.

• Assess the main technical and project risks affecting:

  • energy performance;

  • development and construction timelines;

  • capital expenditure (Capex) and operating expenditure (Opex);

  • project bankability.

• Define risk mitigation strategies and prepare technical recommendations for clients and stakeholders.

• Analyze the permitting, environmental, technical and regulatory aspects of projects, assessing their feasibility and level of maturity.

• Review project technical documentation, including specialist studies, layouts, grid connections, EPC and O&M contracts.

• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and external consultants involved in advisory activities.

• Support business development through pre-sales activities, client meetings and the preparation of technical and commercial proposals.

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring high-quality deliverables, adherence to deadlines and client satisfaction.

• Collaborate with international teams on European projects and initiatives.
  

Requirements:

• Degree in Engineering (Energy, Electrical, Civil, Mechanical or equivalent).

• At least 7–8 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, with a strong specialization in utility-scale photovoltaics.

• Experience in consulting, engineering, IPP, development or advisory firms.

• Solid experience conducting technical due diligence and assessing photovoltaic projects.

• In-depth knowledge of the Italian renewable energy market, including its regulatory and permitting framework.

• Excellent knowledge of the technical aspects of designing, constructing and operating utility-scale photovoltaic plants.

• Experience assessing EPC, O&M and grid connection contracts, as well as technical documentation.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and risk management skills.

• Experience managing relationships with clients, investors and stakeholders.

• Excellent command of English.

• Willingness to travel within Italy and occasionally abroad.
